Happy GOURMET BREAKFAST birthday to Thomas! (treated him to BoJangles this morning and then of course, had to make it look a bit more special than in the wrapper!)

Got outside a bit today (actually SEVERAL times were spent chasing Cooper who loves to run from you now. Seriously - the dog has some issues, folks!) ANYHOO - loved the berries that were just shining brightly in the sun that FINALLY made some appearance today.

Kaitlyn used a bag that I made last year for her to carry her books to church on Sunday. It's still hanging on the stair rail today.

You can actually SEE the surface of my desk. AMAZING! And it's so dark outside, but I still didn't turn on the inside lights - just wanted to capture the gloominess of the day as well!

Kaitlyn's "Einstein" chalkboard for her book report diorama...parents get to help - yippee! (although, don't I always end up helping regardless?) The classroom is being painted right now...or drying...I'm actually not in the garage at this particular moment, lol!

Not sure why this purple sequined play dress (seriously - did she uncloth in my scraproom, OR did she just feel this sudden urge to grab a play dress and bring it downstairs with her?) has taken up residence next to my Cuttlebug and Slice in my scraproom, but it has and did...and it no longer does...'cause it's hanging out on the stairs waiting for it's owner to grab it and EVERYTHING else she owns in this life and carry up to her OWN room!

Kaitlyn decided that she wanted to make her Girls Stuff Cupcakes for breakfast instead of eating the muffins and bacon her daddy fixed. She got it all out herself, and then cooerced Dad into helping her...

Hmmm...he did the icing. Can you tell? :)

We've spent the morning outside...and I took my camera...and chased...and chased...trying to get one picture. Nose not in focus, but oh my goodness...going straight for the camera, like he did every time I got on his level. CUTENESS!

I didn't plant my paperwhites until a few weeks ago. I'm glad they're finally blooming and showing a bit of freshness to my world.

I love having my Grandmother's cookie jar out on the countertop. I remember where it used to sit in her kitchen...on the little table beside the refrigerator...and it ALWAYS had cookies in it. ALWAYS.

Went to the grocery today and bought 3 weeks worth of meals for $123.00. Along with that was 2 fruit cups for the kiddos to enjoy with vanilla yogurt as an afternoon snack. Yummmmo.

I couldn't find Cooper this afternoon...

finally found him in Olivia's crate, curled up asleep. Now how stinkin' sweet is THAT?!?! AND he even went back to sleep for another hour after I took this picture...he's getting better!

Photo 12

There were SEVERAL photos to choose from today, but alas, in the end I could only choose one. And I chose the one photo that made Cooper look a bit less impish than the rest of the photo ops did.

You see, this puppy is a bit of a rascal. He's not the sweet, loving, kind, gentle puppy that I think Thomas had in mind when he bought him for us as a Christmas present. In fact, that very same sentiment was voiced last night as he continued to bounce all over the bed and all over Thomas' head while he was trying to sleep. Because, well...because he cries all night long in his crate!

For example, just now I sit back down after literally chasing him down to get the bit of trim that loosened up underneath his feet. How he found the one piece that is loose around the stair, I just don't know...but he did. He has that uncanny ability to search and rescue stray particles around the house. It's very uncanny ability this little puppy has...ugh.
Back to the photos at hand. I COULD have chose to share the one of his tail as he whizzed passed me dragging toilet paper behind him. I could have shared the one of the remnants of toilet paper strewn all over the bedroom floor that had JUST BEEN VACCUUMED! I COULD have shared the one of tossing his head around in a blurred motion with the toilet paper cardboard insert hanging out of his mouth...
Instead...I chose this one...doesn't he look much sweeter and calmer in THIS one? NO? Seriously...him CALMLY chewing this one thing is better than him freakishly running around the house chewing EVERYTHING! Seriously folks...this is NUTSO!

No doggie pics today - although I did take some. I always end up with a lot of photos each day to choose from. I never just take one. That's not what the project is about for me...it's always been for me to get my camera out DAILY and capture our life. As it is daily...not just in one picture. SO that's what I did last year and will continue to do this year...

ANYHOO - today's picture. I started my little 'tasks' list so that I could actually get busy. Note, there are only 2 things marked off? That's because this little puppy who brings a dose of cuteness to your day also brings along with him no time to do anything but tend to him. That's okay - I kinda like this excuse! :)

Because MY GOODNESS, doesn't your Tuesday deserve a good dose of cuteness, too?!?!

Well - here he is, but we are still deciding on a name. He currently is named Tyler by his breeder, however, we're not certain about that name...we've got a few choices floating around and will make a decision in the next few days. :) Just thought you might want to see him in the meantime.

I love to keep my Christmas cards from previous years. I don't always keep all of them, but I do keep the ones that are especially pretty, all photo cards, all family cards, and all of the ones from people I know longer hear from. It just reminds me of each one of them and always gives me a chance to reflect on our times together.

I especially keep ones like this:

the last one I received from Mrs. Brauchle in her loose handwriting.
the last one I received from Sis. Huddleston
the one I got from Creating Keepsakes one year (just a reminder to me of what I've done in the past)
the handwritten letters or yearly documents/newsletters

I love going over them each year and always have had enough that would fit into one of my McCoy pottery pieces that sat around somewhere. This year it was overflowing, so in keeping with the December Daily album feel, I grabbed a few pieces of chipboard this morning and punched holes in all of my cards, culled through the ones I wanted to keep, and bunched them together in one spot. Since I'd not done this before, I couldn't remember the years for all of them and ended up not putting them in order. I did, however, make a special section (with a portion of leftover DD album acrylic insert that didn't get used) for this years cards.

I think this will help me to do this each year...just either add to this one, or create a new one when it gets too large.

Starting off the New Year of 2009 in a lazy way. We stayed out WAY too late last night after service since we went to Shoney's (yummmy...not!). We didn't get home until 2:30 and then had to get up at 8:00 to get Brandon and Kaitlyn off to their respective places (youth retreat and Theresa's house). Zachary stayed the night with a friend and arrived back home shortly after 9:00.

He's curled up in the warm bed watching his recorded episodes of his favorite detective show "Monk". What a way to spend the day, huh?
